Brett is a fun one. Here’s her character model for the party:
I beat up my pinkie finger the other day while practicing some arpeggios on guitar. It has been so sore I haven’t been able to play for a few days. But now I’ve got a solid callus there, so I’m actually better off now. If life was an RPG, and guitar playing was a skill tree, I would have just leveled up.
Actually now that I think about it, drawing up an RPG-style “skill tree” of guitar techniques to master isn’t a bad idea. It would add an extra element of fun to practicing, and (more importantly) would help newer players to know what to work on next. I might have to do this.
“Final Fantasy Guitar Lessons” or something like that? I could see that, actually.
Aaand I kinda wonder just where Dereks left hand is in that last panel. 😉
Yeah, that way you can look on the tree and say, “hmm, I want to be able to do _____, so it looks like I should focus on _____ and _____ first”
As someone who once tried to teach himself the guitar (I’ll stick to comics), I would find that incredibly useful.
Brett is very pretty. And she’s the wild card in this deck.
Yeah, it is sounding like a better and better idea. It will require a lot of input from a LOT of skilled guitarists, however, so it will be difficult. Fortunately the internet is quite large.
Hmmmm. Derek’s developed some composure. 😀 And I can’t quite tell whether Brett is messing with Rachel or not. 🙂
Brett lost the pickups in her guitar and didn’t realize it. I think she’s serious.
Good point. 😀
