Nobody Will Notice
I just reconfigured my desk at home to be a little more ergonomic. As a bonus, I got to separate my speakers a little bit more. Oh my GOD the stereo imaging is beautiful. I tried listening to Dream Theater while drawing this page and had to shut it off because I just kept staring off into space and just listening to it.
Have a good week!
I can relate. A good sound system can eat away your time faster than you would think.
On the plus side I tend to get quite a lot of inspiration from it. Latest story idea came together while listening to music during a bus ride across parts of Ireland.
I like that half hidden smirk of Rachel’s in panel two. Makes me think this was intentional from the start and she was just pulling Elaine’s leg. Call it a little bit of payback if you will. 😉
I totally agree about drawing story inspiration from music. I can trace the roots of this whole comic to a couple of specific albums I was listening to at the time.
Woah, stormy-blue background in panel 2–nice touch. 🙂
Is “stormy blue” the same as “very light gray”?
Actually, it is. The blue-gray of a storm cloud is just gray, but the eye interprets it as a shade of blue. Fun decor fact: when you put two colors together, it changes the look of both. I’m a professional picture framer, and I can change the look of a piece of artwork radically by changing the colors I surround it with. 🙂
Ahhh white balance stuff. Cool!
Or, just have a special on James Bond Martinis.
Whoa, that look in Elaine’s eyes in panel two. Deadly.
I wish I could have speakers, but I’m in an apartment, and nobody likes my musical choices anyway. I’m getting burned out on Rock ‘n Roll and Classical, so I’ve been listening to a lot of Ragtime.
I have, in my small library of piano music, a book containing every rag Joplin composed (though I suspect he wrote a hell of a lot more). The table of contents is particularly cool, because next to each song title, they notate the main melody on a tiny little staff.
