Open the Door
And this makes 100 pages. Had to do something a little special. Two more weeks makes a year since the first page was published. Crazy how time flies! Thanks for reading, guys!
I’ve been doing a ton of fundamental practicing lately. I’m always surprised how much of a difference it makes, both with the final product and with the process of getting there (especially the process – there’s no way I could have done that last panel without all the gesture drawings I’ve been doing). Its fun. I like it.
Music and drawing share one important truth. All the really good stuff you want to do is built on the foundational principles–fundamentals, like you said–that must be reviewed from time to time. I’ve never heard you play *cough, cough, link, cough* but I have seen what you draw, and I’d say all the practicing has been worth it. 🙂
Heh, I should post something sometime. I actually haven’t been playing too much guitar lately, as I’ve been spending most of my free time drawing, but I’ve still got a lick or two up my sleeve.
Yeah, running is the best idea I can think of right now.
Primal instinct.
He’s got a weird way of inviting the ladies, that’s for sure.
Smooth as 350 grit sandpaper.
A thug with a Rolls Royce?
Now who would be rich enough to hire a thug with a Rolls?
BRRRRRRETTTT!
Also, your practice is really paying off. Nice perspective and Rolls in the first panel. And I love Mr. Polite Thug in panel 2.
I find it really cool that you recognized the car, though I suppose it is fairly distinctive, even with a bogus hood ornament. Suicide doors are just so damn cool.
And thanks very much. I’m very pleased with how this page turned out. I just discovered the perspective ruler in MS5, which makes architectural-type stuff MUCH faster to do in perspective. I’ve been playing with it a ton, lately. It’s a lot of fun.
